We departed Zion early, in the dark, and with snow flurries. It only got worse from there… More snow and more ice.

After Grand Junction it was a beautiful drive up into the Rockies with spectacular views!
Just after this photo the weather set in! Note: Always use anti-freeze wiper fluid! Snow, slush, ice, rain, wind and no visibility. At one point Meg saved the moment by throwing water across the windshield, clearing my vision, and we made it into yet another gas station.
We made it to Colorado Springs after 13 hours – safe but exhausted.
We departed the Lorimers early and drove out into the Mojave where we made an overnight camp. The next morning we drove into St. George, Utah where we spent some quality time at the Dodge Dealership getting the Cruise Control fixed.

We met with the group and joined up with Kellie & Petie (her dog).
We departed home with a quick stop to visit our long time friend Diana, from Hawaii, who was in Thousand Oaks with family. Then we bombed south to Maureen and Mikes place for a Christmas dinner with the family.
